Our top-end PFD collection has received a complete design overhaul. Progressing our patented design concept Wrapid Fit, we are excited to launch four new models to our collection. For Sea and Touring paddling, two front zip opening models, Wraptor Zip et les Wraptor H2O. For recreational and WW paddling, two side opening vest styled models, Wrapid Vest et les Wrapid Guide.

All models feature our unique Wrapid Fit entry / fitting system along with updated 3D pattern designs that sculpt and mould the flotation foam around the paddler’s body, paired with interlocking, overlapping, highly chamfered foam that provides an unrivalled wearing experience. The back panel of the PFD features our Internal Secure Wrap System – where extended wing panels wrap around the lower torso, securely and comfortably fitting between the paddler’s waist and rib cage. The front of the PFDs are connected to the back panels with various webbing adjusters, side release buckles and chest harness – dependent on model / intended use.

The net benefit of the Internal Secure Wrap System design means we’ve been able to remove the lower waist webbing adjustment strap – thus reducing the overall height of the PFD; this is ideal especially once in a seated position as the PFD front panel hardly rides up the wearer when in use. In the women’s sizes we have further shortened and widened the front foam and overall shape in line with our collected #shepaddlespeak data set, whilst at the same time creating an internal stepped foam area that comfortably accommodates a wide variety of chest shapes. Furthermore, the development of the Wrapid Fit PFDs style fitting, results in the size range in each PFD size being far greater than in any other former Peak PS PFD model. Something identified and welcomed by those women that took part in trialling early samples of the Wrap PFDs. 

As a cross over from our other Product of Year entry (#2), the Wrapid PFD development has been a major part of our #shepaddlespeak project. Our extensive research and consultation with the women within the paddlesports market has led us to develop not only new styles of PFDs and fitting functionality, but it has also led us to developing a new size altogether. All Wrapid Fit PFDs will be available in our previous sizes of 10/12 and 14/16, and a brand new 18/20 size. Thus, making our Peak PS brand and equipment more inclusive, as more women of different shapes and sizes can enjoy paddlepsorts in our equipment.

The PFDs within the collection of Wrapid Fit models has something for all types of paddling and paddlers. For those looking to start out in WW kayaking, the Wrapid Vest provides a safe, comfortable and secure PFD that can hold enough gear for a day on the water. The Wrapid Guide is advanced model of the Wrapid Vest – perfect for the most extreme of WW environments, ideal for guides, professionals and WW enthusiasts alike. Featuring our clean lined, full adjustable chest harness, integrated shoulder straps and storage space for all extreme safety gear the Wrapid Guide can tackle the toughest of water out there. Both the Vest and Guide models are side entry PFDs, that are easy to fit, adjust and use – as well as being super secure and ultra comfortable. Available in men’s and women’s sizes, in bright colourways and reflective water based logo throughout.  

For the sea / touring market, our Wraptor Zip and Wraptor H2O PFDs are style and designed in the same fashion from the front. Offering ample storage space and accessory clip-on positions, not just on the front pockets and upper chest area, but also on the reflective shoulder strap webbing. This is another perfect position for clip-on safety equipment such as light beacons or EPIRBs. Taking feedback from our team paddlers, the Wraptor Zip features a cut away section at the bottom of the rear panel in order to be compatible with our waist mounted Towline range. The Wraptor H2O is equipped with a large rear pocket, that can easily accommodate a 1.5L drink bladder, perfect for on-the-go hydration. Available in men’s and women’s sizes, in bright colourways and reflective water based logo throughout.
