Fit is the oldest problem in PFDs.

The industry’s answer has been a unisex vest, or a single shape sized up and down and sold to everybody on the assumption that the average is close enough.

The Halo Fit System starts from the opposite premise. Sculpted inner foam is contoured to the body’s natural curves without a traditional pre-curved chassis. Men’s and women’s sizing were also developed independently rather than one being derived from the other. Contoured front foam panels keep the vest balanced around the torso’s natural shape, reduce chafing, and let the fit feel like support instead of compression.

Halo conforms to the paddler rather than asking the paddler to conform to it. That change, paired with FreeFlow Foam, is what lets it fit a wide spectrum of bodies without forcing a paddler to compromise their fit.

Halo is featured across our 2027 PFD line, from the 50N Thompson and Mattawa through the low-profile whitewater Ashlu and Magpie to the touring Hopewell and Nanaimo, and it is paired with our proprietary FreeFlow Foam on premium options, which is PVC-free and PFAS-free. FreeFlow is not only more sustainable but also one of the softest foams on the market, allowing the Halo Fit System to really shine.
