Brand: LEVEL SIX | Product: 2026 Freya Drysuit
The 2026 Freya is more than a women’s drysuit — it’s the first paddlesports garment designed entirely from community feedback. Going against “pink it and shrink it” the act of taking men’s products, shrinking them and changing the colour, we decided that we needed real data to redefine what women’s fit in a drysuit is. Using our Freya Fit Survey, over 600 women from around the world shared their measurements, frustrations, and personal stories about gear that never truly fit. Many spoke about drysuits that restricted their movement, compromised their confidence, or left them feeling like afterthoughts in a sport they love.
We took this data and bell-curved the measurements, mapped every pain point, and started with a clean sheet — no borrowed men’s patterns, no “shrink it and pink it.” Our female and paddler-led design team translated this community insight into new patterns, tested and refined them in the field, and obsessed over the small details that make the biggest difference. The result is a drysuit with a truly women’s-specific fit — one that moves naturally with the body, reduces bulk in critical areas, adds space where needed, and provides unmatched comfort without sacrificing durability or performance. Our focus was on building a truly ergonomic fit with a full body range of motion built for more than just paddling. The days of dry suits that are only built for paddling and leave you lacking on land are behind us and we wanted our new Freya to reflect that for as many body types as possible.
The Freya sets a new benchmark for paddlesports gear: a suit designed by and for women paddlers, built on data, empathy, and accountability. We know that perfection is impossible, but we have and will continue to strive for it.
The Freya is also more than a suit that fits. It features our next-generation Exhaust Pro 3-ply fabric: a PFAS-free, 100% recycled, and high-performance fabric designed from the ground up by Level Six. Engineered to outperform traditional waterproof-breathable fabrics. Drastically more breathable and waterproof than our previous generation, Exhaust Pro provides lasting protection in the harshest conditions while eliminating the toxic chemistries still common in the industry.
Key Design Innovations:
- Community-driven fit: Developed from hundreds of paddler submissions, creating a pattern built for women from the ground up, not adapted from men’s gear.
- Exhaust Pro 3L fabric: PFAS-free, 100% recycled, 6,000 g/m²/24h breathability, 33,000 mm waterproof rating. Hydrophilic membrane boosts real-world breathability and wicking properties.
- Performance construction: Taller 12″ tunnel for a secure skirt seal, redesigned relief zipper for comfort and mobility, articulated elbows and knees for unrestricted motion, and reduced panelling for fewer failure points.
- Durability: Reduced seams for fewer failure points and a new seam tape formulated for immersion suits with 30% more adhesive for maximum durability and longevity. This is paired with PFAS-free gaskets and reinforced neoprene punches at the wrists for gaskets that last longer under stress.
- Sizes: XS – XLS
For dealers, the Freya represents more than a drysuit — it’s a chance to meet long-underserved demand with a product that raises confidence and removes the barriers many women face when buying technical paddling gear. By stocking the Freya, retailers can offer a solution their customers have been asking for, and in many cases, waiting years to see.
The impact of the Freya goes beyond a single product. The innovations pioneered here — from the data-driven fit process to the construction upgrades — are already shaping every new women’s garment in our 2026 line. This is not a one-off; it is the foundation of a systematic change in how women’s gear is conceived, built, and brought to market.
Why should the Freya win? Because it represents a systematic change in how our industry serves women. For decades, women’s paddling gear has been an afterthought — often “shrink it and pink it” versions of men’s products. The Freya challenges that legacy with a design process rooted in empathy, data, and accountability. Every detail — from the fit to the fabric to the seam tape — reflects our commitment to building gear that performs at the highest level, while honouring both our environment and the paddlers who depend on it.
The Freya is not just a product; it is a statement. It sets a new benchmark for women’s paddlesports gear, proving that performance, sustainability, and inclusivity can all exist in the same garment. We are excited to see other brands following our lead in this area and making paddlesports more accessible for all participants.
