The Verano Calgary is a versatile, high-performance inflatable canoe designed to combine the stability, capacity and authentic paddling experience of a traditional Canadian canoe with the portability and convenience of a modern inflatable.

With a length of 406 cm (13 ft), a width of 105 cm (3 ft 5 in) and an impressive maximum payload of 350 kg (772 lbs), the Calgary o­ers generous space for paddlers, equipment and expedition luggage. It can be paddled by one to three people, making it equally suitable for solo adventures, couples, families and multi-day touring.

What makes the Calgary different?

At the heart of the Calgary is its hybrid inflatable construction. A high-pressure Double-Layer Drop-Stitch floor, inflated to 0.7 bar / 10 PSI, creates a remarkably rigid platform underfoot, while the large PVC side chambers provide excellent buoyancy, stability and safety. This combination delivers an important advantage: the Calgary retains the forgiving nature and stability of an inflatable craft while providing the structural stiffness and paddling efficiency required for serious touring. A dedicated center tube further supports the hull geometry and contributes to directional stability. For improved tracking on flat water, the Calgary features a removable central fin, while its self-bailing system at the stern makes the boat suitable for more demanding river and whitewater use. This versatility is one of the Calgary’s strongest features. Instead of being designed for just one type of paddling, it bridges the gap between a recreational inflatable, a touring canoe and a capable adventure craft.

Designed as a real canoe

Unlike many inflatable kayaks, the Calgary provides a genuine canoe-style seating and paddling position. It is equipped with two aluminum bench seats with EVA foam padding, creating a comfortable and elevated seating position while maintaining the traditional character of a Canadian canoe. Continuous seat mounting straps with multiple attachment points add flexibility, while 10 stainless-steel D-rings, two perimeter safety lines and a bow bungee provide numerous options for securing equipment and luggage. Despite its substantial dimensions and 350 kg carrying capacity, the hull weighs only 23 kg. Once deflated, the Calgary can be transported in its dedicated drybag-style backpack – allowing paddlers to take a full-size canoe to places where transporting or storing a conventional rigid canoe would be difficult or impossible.
