Strategic move signals a new chapter in paddlesports innovation and growth<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Laval, QC \u2013 May 12, 2025<\/strong> \u2014 A new era begins for the paddlesports industry as Pelican Intl Inc.<\/strong>, a newly formed entity, announces the successful acquisition of the assets (excluding GSI Outdoors) of Pelican International Inc.<\/strong> und die Confluence Outdoor Inc.<\/strong> The acquisition was completed through a court-approved Sale and Investment Solicitation Process (SISP) under the Companies\u2019 Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA)<\/strong> in Canada and Chapter 15<\/strong> in the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The transaction was led by former Pelican President and CEO Danick Lavoie<\/strong>, alongside former executives Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Guay<\/strong> und die Guy Prenevost<\/strong>, with the backing of a group of seasoned investors including Vincent Chiara<\/strong> (Mach Capital), Marc Varadi<\/strong> (RIMAP Hospitality), Luc Sabbatini<\/strong> (Ganesh Capital), and Charles Malo<\/strong>, who will continue as a board member and investor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This partnership positions Pelican Intl Inc. for renewed growth, innovation, and resilience, preserving the legacy of some of the most trusted brands in paddlesports while retaining a workforce of over 400 dedicated employees across North America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
