Brand: SipaBoards | Product: e-Cruiser

SipaBoards e-Cruiser is a self-inflating electric sit-down paddlecraft combining the portability of an inflatable SUP, the stability of a recreational kayak and the range assistance of an integrated electric waterjet.

Its high-pressure drop-stitch core is supported by two buoyant side tubes with elevated rails, creating a stable and balanced platform designed specifically for seated exploration.

Powered by the integrated SipaDrive waterjet, e-Cruiser reaches approximately 3–4 knots and offers up to seven hours of battery autonomy, depending on operating conditions and assistance level. It is the first-in-market packable inboard-motor paddlecraft.

The entire craft self-inflates, folds into a backpack and fits inside a car trunk. No trailer, roof rack, external pump or outboard motor is required.

A complete system—not an aftermarket motorised conversion

Electric kayaks usually demand a compromise. Rigid powered kayaks offer performance and stability but require substantial storage, transport equipment and physical handling. Inflatable kayaks solve the transport problem, but propulsion is normally added afterwards through an outboard, trolling motor, pod or replacement fin.

The e-Cruiser was designed as one integrated system from the beginning.

It evolves SipaBoards’ electric SUP architecture into a purpose-built seated platform. The drop-stitch core provides rigidity and efficient movement through the water, while the twin side tubes increase buoyancy, lateral stability and paddler confidence.

Integrated inboard jet propulsion

Most electric kayak systems place a propeller, fin drive or motor assembly outside the hull. These components increase draft, collect vegetation or fishing line and remain exposed to impacts and wildlife.

SipaDrive places the propulsion system inside a protected housing. Water is drawn through the system and expelled as a controlled jet, leaving no exposed propeller beneath or behind the craft.

  • Quiet electric propulsion
  • Reduced entanglement with ropes, weeds and fishing line
  • Lower risk of direct contact with wildlife
  • Operation in very shallow water
  • Protection from underwater impacts
  • A clean hull without an outboard motor
  • Immediate propulsion without installing an aftermarket drive

Users can paddle conventionally, use electric assistance to extend their range or rely on propulsion when facing fatigue, headwinds or changing conditions.

First-ever self-inflating electric paddlecraft

The e-Cruiser uses SipaBoards’ proven self-inflation technology to prepare the complete platform automatically in approximately 10 minutes.

After use, it can be deflated, folded and carried in its backpack-sized storage system. This eliminates the need for a trailer, roof rack, marina berth, large storage area or separate electric pump.

To our knowledge, e-Cruiser is the first paddlecraft to combine automatic self-inflation with a fully integrated electric propulsion system.

Built around seated exploration

The e-Cruiser is not a SUP with a chair attached. Its geometry is designed around a seated centre of gravity.

The included SipaSeat provides a pressure-stabilised seating surface and supportive backrest without poles, hinges or a rigid chair frame.

  • Self-inflating construction
  • Integrated inboard electric waterjet motor
  • Bluetooth remote control mounted onto the paddle
  • Up to 7h battery runtime
  • Stable drop-stitch and twin-tube platform
  • Speeds of approximately 3–4 knots
  • Backpack storage and car-trunk transport
  • Premium SipaSeat comfort
  • Freshwater and saltwater compatibility

Why it matters to e-paddling

For private users, e-Cruiser opens powered exploration to people without a trailer, roof rack or large storage area. It can travel inside a car, camper, RV or yacht and launch from beaches, riverbanks and remote access points.

For rental operators, it offers a stable and approachable electric craft with compact fleet storage, automatic inflation, no exposed propeller and multiple hours of assisted operation. It can extend rental routes, reduce anxiety around fatigue and headwinds and make longer experiences accessible to a broader range of customers.

SipaBoards e-Cruiser takes the technologies that defined the electric SUP—self-inflation, integrated jet propulsion, high-pressure construction and modularity—and rebuilds them around a stable sit-down platform.
