The Wizard’s Eye is now out!

Join record-setting kayaker Tyler Bradt as he assembles a ragtag crew of thrill-seekers, fixes up an old 42-foot sailboat named Wizard’s Eye and sets out on a five-year odyssey to circumnavigate the globe.

Tyler Bradt is an extreme kayaker with an inquisitive spirit and a heart of gold; he’s a daredevil who lives in the moment and is clearly no stranger to risk. After setting a world record by paddling his kayak off the 189-foot drop that creates Palouse Falls in Washington State, Tyler became known worldwide as a star of the sport. But, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible has its cost. Shortly after Palouse, Tyler was forced to reckon with the realities of his passion and profession after a close call, and subsequently serious back injury. It was in this time of reflection, and introspection that Tyler’s curious and adventurous spirit guided his sights on an adventure of a lifetime. A dream was born.

Tyler sought and acquired an old, 42-foot, steel hull sailboat aptly named, Wizard’s Eye. She was rough and needed work, but with vision and a serious dose of commitment, she would take him around the world. Despite the fact he knew next to nothing about sailing, or how to captain a seaworthy craft, it would be a mission to discover Earth’s secrets and a rare opportunity to reinvent what’s possible. So, Tyler did what Tyler does best and rallied his friends and family to join him on this journey that will change their lives forever.

As imagined, this journey became a series of wild, profound and unexpected adventures in faraway lands. THE WIZARD’S EYE Expedition represents ultimate freedom, at perhaps a level that few truly seek, commit to, or achieve. This boat, this dream, represented the chance to see and experience remote locations which can only be accessed by traveling on a small wind-powered vessel. This series brings us to some of the untouched corners of the planet while Tyler and his crew learn to use this sustainable mode of transportation to access culture, food, amazing people, and to explore the human condition.
