AQUABOUND - Ultralight Tetra

With the introduction of the Ultralight Tetra, Aqua Bound is once again pushing the envelope in paddle manufacturing – this time for sea kayaking.

Manufactured using high-tech spread tow carbon wave and weighing only 602g, the Ultralight Tetra is one of the lightest full foam-core touring paddles on the market. At the same time, it has been carefully designed with durability and longevity in mind. The Tetra utilizes a monolithic construction – this unique configuration is 20% stronger than paddles constructed alternatively with a blade-to-shaft joint.

The Ultralight Tetra has multiple layers of pre-preg carbon with a unique toughened epoxy resin fully wrapping the blade edge, different from the current technology being used in other full foam-core paddles. In addition to this unique manufacturing technique, the Ultralight Tetra employs Aqua Bound’s US patent-pending Lam-Lok  technology, which is not found on any other foam core paddle in the world. 5m of aramid thread is stitched all the way through each of the blades, which protects the most vulnerable portions of the blade’s edge against impact and abrasion and dramatically extends the paddle’s life.

A final distinguishing characteristic of the Tetra is its high visibility graphics – another innovative first in the realm of full foam-core all-carbon paddles. Strategically placed reflective elements allow paddlers to be better seen, and therefore safer, on the water.
