For the fourth time, Kayak Session Magazine organizes the Paddlers Awards. 2021 was somewhat a back to normal kind of year and these awards are there to do justice to all the paddlers out there ripping it up and sharing with us all year around their incredible performances. The judging is based on the past 12 months (January through December).
There are 8 categories: Male & Female Paddler of the Year, Male & Female U21 Paddler of the Year, Event of the Year, Non-Profit of the Year, Crew Awards, and one Award that we specifically care a lot for, the honorary award: Legend Paddler Award.
And the winner is… in the Event category: The Green River Race.
2021 saw the 26th edition of the Green Race. Nearly 200 paddlers came to race past the spectator-filled banks for their chance to be part of something iconic. Whether it was their first race or their 20th, the Green Race has changed the way people paddle and look at the Green River. Now, as the first race to create and run a live broadcast, they are sharing that legacy with more people than ever before.
