At last week’s European Surf Kayak Championships, Palm Equipment and Hobson Kayaks unveiled something special: the Eclipse RM.
This collaboration brings together two icons of paddlesports. Long known as a benchmark in composite surf kayaks, the Eclipse is now available in rotomoulded plastic. The result is a crossover design that opens surf kayaking to a wider audience.
The Eclipse RM is built for paddlers who want a kayak that can take the hits of everyday use without losing the feel of a true surf kayak. A hybrid between a cruiser and a high-performance short boat, it planes fast, carves harder, and can be surfed finless or with single, twin, or thruster fins. It is easy to set up and comfortable to paddle. At home on a tide race, river wave, or in the ocean surf, the Eclipse blurs the line between surf and river – the perfect playboat for every quiver.
Available from the end of October, the Eclipse RM comes in three colors — Dawn Patrol, Dusk, and Groundswell — and retails at £1295 / 1599€.
